Meet The BSJA Jersey Committee

The Team Behind The Scenes

It takes an awful lot of effort to run an organise an association like the BSJA Jersey.  We are lucky enough to have a great team working behind the scenes to make sure that everything runs as it should and that you, our members, get to enjoy the benefits of a well managed organisation.

Jo Patterson

Chairman

Jo is our current Chairman and she has been involved in the local BSJA committee for over 10 years. She is a BS UK level 2 Course Designer and when she’s not building for our local competitions, you will find her competing her own horse – Cor De Caretino aka “Tino” at events.  Jo also likes to take her horse to compete in the UK when she is able to do so.

Rose Hull

Hon. Treasurer

Rose has been a club member, competed in events and served on the Committee for many years.  Rose is always happy to help out wherever needed on competition days. Rose particularly enjoys seeing children progress from nervous tots into confident riders as they move up through the classes. Rose combines the 2 roles of Show Secretary and Treasurer.

Clare Richmond

Vice Chairman

Clare has been a member of the BSJA since she joined us in 1994 and has been a member of the committee for the past 8 years.  Clare is a very approachable member who’s always happy to help with whatever needs doing at events

Helen Viera

Hon. Secretary

Helen started riding at a young age, and finally realised her life long dream of owning her own horse in 2019 after having two children. She joined the committee in 2021, taking on the role of secretary where her main responsibilities are ensuring the clubs records and registrations are accurate and up to date. Being new to the competition scene in Jersey she hopes to be able to share the opinion of a grassroots member in the committee.

Sari Cuming

Academy Training Co-ordinator

Sari joined BSJA Jersey riding 128 ponies, progressing through to senior ranks.  She has represented the island both as a member and captain of the Jersey team and is a Level 2 (1*) Judge and Level 1 (Club) Course Designer.  A former Pony Club chief instructor, she has a particular interest in training and development and is a keen advocate of the Academy

Aimee Sinclair-Horgan

Social Secretary

Aimee is married and has in the last 3 years rejoined BSJA with her 3 young daughters who all ride and love to compete. Previously competing as a junior herself many years ago. In Aimee’s spare time she likes to try to ride her own horse! Aimee will be our fundraising and social Secretary.

Kate Ranfield

Registrations Secretary

I am a local girl and married with two children, a grown up son and a daughter who is lucky enough to have her own pony who I occasionally get to steal. In my spare time away from ponies I like to catch up with friends and spend time with family.

Becky Hill

General Committee

God knows how but as a skinny kid I got into ponies and slowly up to team chasing (when my mum could no longer watch).  Boyfriends arrived and ponies left but 20 years later my mate introduced me to Col and the rest is history, that was 2010. Col is now semi-retired but My Harley keeps me active and the summer of 2021 was just the best with us whizzing around doing one day events.
